Claire E. Smith
Lab Director
Dr. Smith is an Assistant Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of South Florida. Her research spans a variety of topics related to occupational health and the work-life interface, with particular focus on leisure time, health behaviors, and lifespan approaches to health and well-being. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research and real-world impact. In her free time, she enjoys racket sports, cooking projects, befriending stray cats, and seeing movies in the theater.

Savannah Flak

Doctoral Student
Savannah Flak is a first year I-O doctoral student. For the past two years, Savannah worked as a Research Associate for Fors Marsh, a research consulting firm, where she supported recruitment research for the U.S. Army. Building on her social psychology expertise regarding body image and eating behaviors, Savannah's current research interests include occupational health and team effectiveness. In her free time, Savannah enjoys tending to her many houseplants, singing, and spending time with her two cats.

Stephanie Boettcher

Doctoral Student
Steph Boettcher is a first year USF I/O PhD student. Currently, she is exploring potential I/O career paths, continuing to develop her research interests, and getting as much experience as she can along the way. Her research focuses on teams, tech-enabled assessments, as well as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB). In her free time, Steph enjoys practicing yoga, staying active at the gym, and dancing. She also loves playing video games, spending time with loved ones, and volunteering with the Florida Rat Rescuers Network, the largest rat rescue organization in Florida.

Tanjina earned a Master's of Gerontology at USF. Her/Their interests include personality, work productivity, chronic illness, and aging. Tanjina aims for an MD/PhD in preventative medicine and successful aging.

Camila has completed her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology at USF. Her research interests pertain to stress, work productivity, and management. Camila plans to attend an I/O PhD program and continue doing research.

Cat is a third-year majoring in Psychology and Communications, aiming for graduate school in I-O or International Development. She is interested in precarious work, globalization, and behavior modification.

Adriana, a junior Psychology major, plans for graduate school in I/O Psychology to become a professor. Her interests are motivation, productivity, workplace support, and job satisfaction.
