 Despite its cheeky name, the WORST Lab's culture is centered around creativity, growth, and work-life balance.

Research assistants gain experience across the research process to build professional skills, and develop expertise in 
occupational health psychology. Our goal is to guide research assistants as they become confident and innovative junior researchers.


How to apply

Undergraduate
*The lab is at capacity for Spring and Summer 2025. We are not accepting new applications at this time*

The WORST Lab looks for curious, self-motivated, and dedicated undergraduates or recent graduates to support our ongoing research projects and develop their own independent research ideas.

Qualifications include:
  • Minimum 8-hour weekly commitment in the lab
  • Leadership and/or teamwork experience (e.g., at work, school, in another lab)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Interest in worker stress and health
  • *Preferred: College courses in statistics and research methods (A grade)​​

Graduate
USF graduate applications are closed for the 2024-2025 cycle. For future reference, admission requirements include:

  • Excellent writing abilities
  • Evidence of effort toward building statistical and methodological skills (coursework, research experience, GPA and GRE scores)
  • Most importantly, a genuine excitement for the research process and improving worker health and well-being

​Strong applicants should be actively asking themselves: what are the biggest threats to modern workers aiming to live healthy, fulfilling, long lives, and how can we move toward effective solutions?
